Competitive chess returns! The ChessFest Rapidplay is a tournament with a difference… it’s outside!
Set in the idyllic Manchester Square Garden, a private enclosed space just a stone’s throw from London’s West End. The event will be held outside but play will take place under canvas in case of rain or a scorching hot sun!
Organised by Chess in Schools and Communities – the people behind the London Chess Classic – the UK’s largest chess festival. The DecodeChess Rapidplay is part of ChessFest, which aims to increase the popularity of chess with the general public and culminates in a day of family-friendly, fun-packed chess activities in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 18th July.
A 6-round tournament with players having 15 minutes + 5 second increment for all their moves.
Grandmaster participation guaranteed, with over £2,500 in guaranteed prizes!

How to get to Manchester Square Garden
Manchester Square is less than a 10-minute walk from Baker Street underground station (Jubilee, Bakerloo, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City, Circle lines) and Bond Street (Central and Jubilee lines).
